How much does a polar bear weigh? Enough to get the girl to roll her eyes, and your lucky a chuckle. Flirting is a tricky game, to some it comes naturally, to others it doesn’t. Does it have to be though? Nope, it can be simple and painless. Maybe, if you’re really good, you can even score a date.
It seems that guys think they are experts at flirting. Hate to burst your bubble boys, but no one is. Girls and guys aren’t experts at flirting. However, there is good flirting, and flirting that should just never happen. Each side can attest to this, but, guys, we are sticking with you in this article.
First suggestion, stop acting like you’re God’s gift to humanity. It’s not a crime if we don’t accept your offer to go on a date. Humility is nice, cute and ever quite sweet. We love seeing the sensitive side in a guy. However, that doesn’t mean to be overly sappy and romantic. There is a limit. When you act confident and humble, that shows girls you aren’t cocky and you do want to enjoy a pleasant evening or date with them.
Secondly, pick up lines have a time and a place. There are good one’s and there are one’s that are just awful. There are thousands of websites dedicated to good vs bad pick up lines. The good ones aren’t the cliched ones such as, “Are you from Tennessee? Because you’re the only ten I see.” Even writing that was painful. Obviously that’s not the most used one anymore, but ones like, “Excuse me I seem to have lost my phone number can I have yours,” has a certain charm to it. One’s that imply only sex just make you out to be a jerk out for a one night stand. I do not, however, speak for all girls (this is mostly opinion), but from the girls I know the consensus is about the same.
Thirdly, when you do get a girls number it is up to you to contact her! Do not expect her to contact you. She won’t. You wanted her number, you have the interest in her, you text or call her. Some girls prefer calling because it is more personal. Calling is generally better in any case. It shows you really are interested because you took the time to call. Texting is so casual, it’s like something you remembered at the last minute. When you do get the number, wait a day at the very least. Texting right after may come off as desperation to some girls. Automatic turn off. When you wait a day and call, your odds of getting a date are quite higher than texting immediately after.
Lastly, dates must be well planned, and there should always be good conversation going. Keep the conversation engaging by asking thought provoking questions. Nothing is worse than being on a date and having nothing to talk about. Leave your phone alone. Checking it every once in a while is fine, but keep it off the table so it isn’t distracting you. Most girls like being the center of your attention on a date. Make it seem that way. Talk about yourself when asked questions about yourself, but don’t constantly brag about how great at sports, mechanics, writing, etc you are. Stick with being humble to an extent. Confident and humble go hand in hand with flirting. Keep it light, funny and entertaining.
