If you’ve been off Twitter, Facebook and Google, or haven’t talked to anyone in the past 18 hours, then I have some big news for you… Spider-man is coming back to Marvel pictures for future movies in a team-up deal between Sony and Disney. That news will have big ripples in cinema news and what you can expect so here are few things to look out for.

#1 Garfield is Gone

Part of this deal means that Andrew Garfield will no longer be a part of the movies. Depending on your crush status of him, that is either good or bad news (and if you don’t have a crush status on him consider getting your eyes examined). Garfield was said to have been happy about this so he can pursue further projects. This is also impacted partially by the fact that his girlfriend Emma Stone will no longer be in the movies as her character was killed off in the latest installment.

#2 Miss Marvel misses her release date

The new Spider-man movie is set to be released in late 2017, the same time the much-anticipated Miss Marvel movie was as well. Marvel doesn’t want to jam all their releases together, and are delaying that release to the next year, which is pushing back inhumans, which pushes back the black panther movie date, etc, etc. This comes as a big blow to many viewers who were looking forward to Marvel’s first female super hero to have her own movie. Seems like they’ll have to wait a little longer.

#3 Cameos in the movies

Spidey won’t just be appearing in his movie, but in others. The deal, as it currently stands, states that Spider-man will be in both of the Avengers three movies (they’re going the hunger games route), as well as Captain America: Civil War. This is good news to those who are familiar with the comic, as spidey is a big character in civil war. Does this mean that we’ll be seeing more heroes in more movies, maybe?

#4 Spiderman is losing a few years

Andrew Garfield is playing characters a few years younger than he currently is. As it stands, Peter Parker is currently 19 and Garfield is 31 (what???). It is rumored that they want the new actor playing Spidey to be age actual, meaning that he would be anywhere between 16-21, a big contrast to Robert Downey, Jr. and other actors on set.

#5 Spiderman Movies might be good again

Whether you liked the Spider-man movies or not, critics and audiences tend to be generally against them. And lately, both Toby’s/Garfield’s series started out strong and ratings got worse as they got along. Additionally, they made less and less money. This last one was the worst received by audiences and critics, which was a shock seeing as it had big name stars and a built-in audience. I’m looking forward to seeing Marvel, who has done phenomenally well with this article.
