Lorde – Yellow Flicker Beat
Lorde releases a new track from The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack. And It is everything that you would expect from a Lorde song. The slow start with Lorde’s crooning vocals followed by the upbeat synth-fillled chorus that emulates her other singles “Team” or “Tennis Court.”
Modest Mouse – White Lies, Yellow Teeth
Modes Mouse release a new 7” single “White Lies, Yellow Teeth” with a B-side “Buttons to push Buttons.” It’s been nearly five years since Modest Mouse released any new music. So the new single does sound a little disjounted from the rest of their discography. It does have the same jittery guitar tones as any normal Modest Mouse song, but what is different is that there is no big production sound that you would hear from any of their other singles like “Float On” or “Dashboard.” This songs is slightly toned down until you get to the midway point (3:30) where the songs builds continuously.
Circa Survive – Schema
Circa Survive comes back heavy and hard with their new single “Schema” coming from their new and upcoming album Desconsensus(11/25). This new sound is similar to On Letting Go, but with a much bigger edge. This song will most definitely get the mosh pits going.
Bring Me The Horizon – Drown
It seems that Bring Me The Horizon has matured a lot on their new single “Drown.” On their new album due December 7th. Their sound has grown into a more melodic pop-sensible sound and the lyrics have more perspective to them than most of Sempiternal.
