The Utah State Aggies handled business against the Wyoming Cowboys at home by a score of 58-27 to continue possession of the Jim Bridger Rifle. This was quite a relief coming off of the disastrous performance just a week ago in San Diego.
The Aggies started of quickly driving 75 yards in 5 plays with Kent Myers, when asked if he tried to get Kent going early to help forget the dismal performance Coach Wells joked, “We try to get him going early every week”. Also citing the Kent started the game 10-10 not missing on a target until the 3rd quarter, finishing 14-17 246 yards and 3 TD.
It wasn’t the usual suspects for the Aggies in the receiving game, with Wyatt Houston catching 4 balls for 66 yards. and 2 touchdowns. Devante Mays had a career game and set the tone for the offense with 176 yards on the ground with 2 touchdowns.
The Aggies defense however struggled again this time letting up 270 yards on the ground after letting up over 300 the week before. The Aggies seemed to be able to stop the run in the second half, while they had no issue all game with the pass holding QB Nick Smith to 83 yards through the air.
The Aggies are back in action next Saturday @ New Mexico. However you can get your Aggie fix weekdays on Aggie Radio at 9am.
