The Utah State Aggies hockey program earned a win Saturday. The Aggies beat Loyola Marymount 9-3. Keegan McHenry the Aggies starting goalie finishing the night with 26 saves and only allowing three. The Aggies also had an astounding 52 shots on goal. One of the teams highest shot totals of the season.

Two major improvements from the Aggies came from their offensive position. The teams possession of the puck was much improved as the Aggies were able to get over the blue line and into the offensive zone much easier. Also, the Aggies did and exceptional job at crashing the net and picking off rebounds that created scoring opportunities. Utah State still needs to improve on the amount of penalties they take having taken 12 Saturday.

Lane Styers had this to say about the win

“All the boys came out and played good tonight we are working hard and got the win. We really have been lacking offensive creativity, haven’t been able to put the puck in the back of the net like we should have been. This weeks practice we’ve really been working on a lot of offensive, and it payed off tonight.”

Chris Videto had this to say as well

“I think we finally played real hard, played the way we should you know we all stepped up and about time we all collective came together.” There was a lot more intensity getting to the net, and you know having the urgency to get there instead of hanging back and letting the play come to us.

The Aggies move their home record to 2-0 on the season. They will play next on the road against Utah November 1st. The Aggies are 3-6 overall.
