Utah State (6-6, 5-3 MW) played their final game of the season against BYU (9-3). Losing by a score of 51-28. The Aggies started strong on Senior Day in Maverik Stadium, most notably with a 52 yard touchdown run by Chuckie Keeton, that even for a moment brought back those days against Auburn and Louisiana Tech.

Chuckie Keeton passed for 243 yards on 20-45 attempts and 1 touchdown. The one touchdown in the air gave him the school record for passing touchdowns in a career with 61, when asked how it felt Keeton joked, saying it “took long enough”. Presumably in reference to his last two years being riddled with injuries preventing it from happening sooner. Devante Mays and Lajaun hunt combined for 104 yards and the Aggies rushed for over 200 yards, marking it as the first time this years they have lost when rushing for more than 200 yards, previously being 4-0 for the year and on a 21 game streak with that such stat being a deciding factor.

It seemed as if the defense was just outmatched by the height of the receivers and the physicality of the offensive line as the Cougars were able to run for 74 crucial yards that proved to be huge at times, and giving Magnum the ability to throw for 284 yards and 4 touchdowns.

The woes on special teams and turnovers seemed to be what caused for such a despair on the scoreboard as the Aggies were 0-3 on field goals with two of them being blocked, while they had two turnovers, one being a momentum changer, with Keeton fumbling the ball and the Cougars returning it for a touchdown as time expired in the first half.

The Cougars came into Logan with a gameplan and seemed to execute all night, despite falling behind 21-10 in the first half. This was the final regular season game for both teams. BYU has an edge in the series at 47-35-3.

Both teams are bowl eligible and will find out in the coming week when and where they will play in the post-season. For more information and updates regarding bowl games, tune into Aggie Radio weekdays at 9 am.
