The Utah State baseball team lost 6-0 to Colorado State on Friday in Fort Collins. The team drove to Fort Collins from Logan on the same day.

“It’s dissappointing honestly,” said USU head coach Kellen Hansen. “On the other hand it is tough to drive eight hours and play a game.”

Logan Adam started the game and allowed two runs in the first inning. He would settle in though recording five consecutive scoreless innings after that before allowing two more runs in the seventh inning and being taken out. He would go six and two-thirds innings and allow four total runs.

“I probably left him in a little too long,” Hansen said. “Part of my goal in the fall is to let guys work out of situations. It builds character it helps better players if they are working themselves out.”

The Aggies twice had the tying run to the plate in the top of the fifth inning however two separate times had a baserunner caught steeling. The second time put an end to the inning.

“We’re trying to be aggressive on the bases,” Hansen said. “That’s a big emphasis for us is base running to try to be aggressive, but we have to be smart.”

The Aggies will take on the Rams again on Sunday as part of their fall season, which is their unnoficial season.

“Those are bumps that we’d rather work out now and work on all winter and in to next spring,” Hansen said. “We’re working to get back to nationals.”
