Today we will not be seeing a battle between human characters. We will dive into the world of fantasy with our contestants. Our match up will be quite hot, and I mean that quite literally as we are going to be seeing Smaug from the The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, vs Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon 2.

Also known as Smaug The Terrible, he is definitely not an easy opponent. Being the biggest of the two he has the advantage of backing his prey into a corner with no hope of escape. Smaug is also quite vengeful, once he is wronged there is no turning back. Flattery may help keep him distracted, but it won’t last long. He is a smart dragon, and is not easily fooled. His fire has been known to burn down kingdoms made of stone, and desolate towns. The only true chance one would have against this mighty dragon would be gold, or precious gems. Smaug desires the riches of others. Smaug laid desolate in a castle with nothing but gold for many many years. The only chance one would have of victory would be to bribe with gold or with special arrows. Not any ordinary will do however, the arrow needed would have to be a black arrow. This is very rare, but is the only arrow that can penetrate the dragons skin.

Now for Toothless. Toothless doesn’t give the same first impression as Smaug, but looks can be quite deceiving. Whenever he feels threatened, or someone he cares for is threatened, or in danger those cute eyes turn into the eyes of a dangerous dragon. Blending in with ease to the night sky Toothless would be near impossible to see. His smaller body allows for more movement and maneuvering. One drawback is due to a certain handicap, Toothless has difficulties flying without a rider. Even without the power of flight however, he can cause a lot of damage. His hidden fire that causes him to glow could possibly equal the fire power of Smaug himself. Toothless will do anything to protect those he loves from any kind of threat, big or small.
